How to make Megono Rice
Ingredients :

1,5 kg of unripe Jackfruit
·
1 pieces of coconut
·
1/3 kg onion
·
2 pieces of garlics
·
2 pieces of nubiles lime leaves
·
3 pieces of bay leaves
·
salt to taste
·
3 pinc of sugar
·
2 pich of coriander
·
1 pinch of shrimp paste
·
1 piece of galingale
·
1 piece of “kencur”
·
“Kecombrang” flowers (Optionals)
·
green chili 5 pieces (thinly
sliced)
·
Red chili 5 pieces (thinly
sliced)
·
Cayenne pepper 5 pieces
·
3 pecan nuts (roasted)
·
1 galangal
·
1 tablespoon of shrimp paste
·
1 teaspoon of pepper
·
1 teaspoon of coriander
1. Chop the jackfruit into small pieces.
2. Grate the
coconut.
3.
Grind the ingridients; 1/3 kg onion, pieces of garlics, 2 pieces
of nubiles lime leaves, , spoon of salt, 3 pinc of sugar, 2 pich of coriander,
1 pinch of shrimp paste, 1 piece of galingale, and 1 piece of “kencur”.
4. Mix the
ingredients, grated coconut, sliced chilies, and chopped jackfruit.
5. While
stirring or mixing it, you can also taste it. If it's less salty, you can add
more salt.
6. Steam them
for about 30 - 40 minutes.
7. Open the lid
of the pan when it is cooked well.
8. Take it from
the pan and mix it slowy.
9. Take a plate
of rice, then serve megono with some other dish, such as fried fish,fried
chicken, salted egg or omelet, and sambal. It’s tasted so delicious.
